FOCUS Canada may request and collect non-personally identifiable information at various points throughout the site. Personal information is collected from donors who donate through our “Donate Now” page. Depending on the information and/or services requested, you may be asked to provide your name, email address, address, phone number, financial information (e.g. payment details), and similar details. It is important to us that the information you give when making an online donation remains secure. Financial information is used only for that particular transaction and is not retained.
How do we use your information?
Personal information is used primarily to process your donation and to provide you with a donation receipt for tax purposes.
FOCUS Canada does not share your name, postal address or email address with any other organization without your consent. FOCUS Canada may, however, share your information with third parties and/or worldwide affiliates in the following situations:
a) to complete your request, including processing your donation transaction and/or replying to queries made via the email address in the ‘Contact Us’ page of our website. c) to measure the usage of the website and improve content;
d) to better understand donor needs and profiles, and assess improvement in services,
e) to contact you about an upcoming FOCUS/ affiliate event or to conduct online surveys; and
You may opt out of email communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link that is included at the bottom of every email communication from FOCUS Canada.
Do we disclose any of your information to third parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to third parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist FOCUS Canada in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other third parties for marketing, advertising or other uses.
Like many other websites, www.focusstar.ca makes use of log files. These files merely log visitors to the site – usually a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information inside the log files includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks.
